Slider Templates Guide

VisioLayer includes a powerful template engine that allows you to launch professional-grade sliders in seconds. Instead of starting from a blank canvas, you can import a pre-designed slider and simply swap out the content.

Free vs. Pro Templates

VisioLayer offers two tiers of templates:

How to Import Templates

There are two ways to import a template depending on your version.

Importing from the Library (Online)

  1. Navigate to the VisioLayer main dashboard.
  2. Click the "New Slider from Template" button.
  3. The Template Library modal will open.
    • Browsing: Use the filters on the left to sort by category (e.g., "Hero", "WooCommerce").
    • Preview: Click the "Eye" icon on any template to see a live preview.
  4. Click Import.
    • Free Users: Can only import templates marked "Free".
    • Pro Users: Can import any template.
  5. Wait for the assets (images/videos) to download. The slider will open automatically once finished.

Importing Manually (.zip)

If you have a template exported from another VisioLayer installation:

  1. Go to the VisioLayer dashboard.
  2. Click the "Manual Import" icon (usually top right).
  3. Upload the .zip file.
  4. Click Import Slider.

Customizing Templates

Once imported, the template becomes yours. You can edit absolutely everything without affecting the original library file.

Recommended Workflow:

  1. Change Backgrounds: Go to Slide Options > Background and replace the demo image with your own high-quality photo.
  2. Edit Text: Double-click any text layer on the canvas to update headlines and descriptions.
  3. Update Links: Click on Button layers -> Actions Tab -> Update the URL to point to your pages.
  4. Check Mobile: Switch to Mobile View and ensure your new text length fits the screen.

Template Categories

Our Pro library is organized to help you find specific functionality:

  • Hero Headers: Large, full-width headers designed to make a first impression.
  • Content Modules: Smaller blocks meant for "Features" or "Testimonials" sections.
  • WooCommerce: Sliders pre-configured to pull product data (requires Pro).
  • Media Galleries: Optimized for photographers and portfolios.
  • Special FX: Templates showcasing Particle effects, Distortion, or Scroll-triggered animations.

Template Updates

  • One-Time Import: When you import a template, it copies the files to your server.
  • No Auto-Updates: Changes we make to the "Master" template in our cloud library do not automatically overwrite your imported slider. This protects your customizations.
  • Re-Importing: If you want the updated version of a template, you must import it again as a new slider.

Common Issues & Fixes

Issue: "Import Failed" or "Ajax Error"

  • Cause: Often due to low server memory or upload limits.
  • Fix: Increase your PHP memory_limit to 256MB and upload_max_filesize to 32MB in your php.ini.

Issue: Missing Images after Import

  • Cause: The importer failed to download assets from our CDN, likely due to a firewall.
  • Fix: Check if your server blocks outgoing requests to templates.visiolayer.com. You may need to ask your host to whitelist this domain.

Issue: Pro Template asks for Activation

  • Cause: You are trying to import a Premium template without an active license.
  • Fix: Go to VisioLayer > License, enter your purchase key, and try again.
